About Flag Football Tryouts
A tryout is a structured evaluation session where a team or club assesses players for open roster spots. Unlike a camp or clinic, the goal isn't instruction — it's selection. Players compete for a limited number of positions on a team that plays in leagues or tournaments.
Before attending a tryout, confirm: the roster is actually open (not just a marketing list), registration fees and what they cover, the age group and competitive level, and whether you need to bring proof of age or eligibility.
Tryout vs. Showcase: At a tryout, you're evaluated for one specific team. At a showcase or combine, multiple coaches and recruiters evaluate you independently. If your goal is college exposure, a recruiting showcase is different from a roster tryout.
