The game now creates more opportunities for players, parents, coaches and organizers than ever before. But finding the right information can still mean sorting through social posts, registration platforms, PDFs, team websites, league pages and messages that may already be out of date.
SoCal Flag exists to bring the useful parts together: where to play, how the game works, what is changing, and what to ask before taking the next step.
Why now
Girls flag football is one of the fastest-growing opportunities in high school sports. The NFHS reported 68,847 girls participating in 2024–25—up 388% from its first post-pandemic survey—and described it as the fastest-growing emerging sport for girls.
That growth reaches well beyond high school. Young players are finding new teams, leagues and tournament opportunities; college programs and recruiting pathways are expanding; and flag football will make its Olympic debut at LA28 in 2028.

We cover all eight counties of Southern California — Orange County, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino (the Inland Empire), San Diego, Imperial, Ventura and Santa Barbara — organized into five browsing regions.
The communities are local, but the game is connected. A player may practice near home, compete throughout Southern California, pursue an out-of-state qualifying event, or follow a pathway that eventually reaches college, national-team competition or LA28.
