For coaches, it creates two useful paths: enter a one-day fall event to build playoff reps and pursue a December bid, or plan around Grinch Games and the January Orange County stop with a 2027 national-championship opportunity in view. For families, the practical difference is the commitment: three dates promise a compact three-game day, while Grinch Games is a two-day, four-game weekend.

Four stops, two distinct tournament plans
- Halloween Horror — Oct. 18, 2026, Santa Ana: a one-day event at Valley High School with a three-game guarantee. Costumes and facemasks are encouraged, giving this stop a real Halloween identity rather than a generic October date.
- Inland Empire — Nov. 15, 2026, Winchester: another one-day, three-game-guarantee event at Liberty High School, positioned as the final local route into the December Grinch Games weekend.
- Grinch Games — Dec. 12–13, 2026, San Marcos: a two-day event at San Marcos High School with a four-game guarantee, three pool games before bracket play, and a broader championship-weekend feel.
- Orange County — Jan. 10, 2027, Santa Ana: a one-day return to Valley High School that gives teams a fresh 2027 date after the fall schedule.
All four pages use a 5v5 format. The October, November and January events list two pool games plus a single-elimination bracket, with every team advancing to playoffs. Grinch Games lists three pool games before bracket play. That extra guaranteed game is not just a number: it gives coaches another live-game look at line combinations, pressure situations and late-day adjustments before elimination play begins.
Why a coach might choose one stop over another
The fall one-day events are the cleanest choice for a roster that wants tournament reps without committing an entire weekend. Halloween Horror adds the themed atmosphere, while Inland Empire is the later fall option. Each says division winners receive a half bid to Grinch Games, so they can serve as a qualifying target rather than only a local event.
Grinch Games is the event for a team that wants the longest competitive weekend in this series. Its registration page lists division-winner rings, MVP and Clutch Player awards, and a half bid to Hard Count’s 2027 National Championship. The January Orange County stop also lists a half bid to that national championship, which gives teams that miss or skip December another pathway date.
Division choice is not identical at every stop
Coaches should verify the exact menu before entering. Halloween Horror, Inland Empire and Orange County list boys and girls divisions; Grinch Games lists coed and girls divisions. The current registration pages use an Aug. 1, 2026 age cutoff, but the available age groups vary by event. Several stops include girls 18U, while Grinch Games also lists coed divisions through 18U. A roster should not assume that a division offered in October will automatically be available in December or January.
What families should ask before the team commits
These are team-registration tournaments, not individual sign-ups. The current rules on the registration pages list a 12-player maximum, two coaches per team, Zorts player cards and parent waivers. Families can help by confirming three things with team staff: whether there is a roster spot, which division the coach plans to enter and who is responsible for the roster documents before the deadline.
At the time SoCal Flag reviewed the live registration pages, they explained entries, divisions and rules but did not link to a public game-by-game schedule, bracket or results tracker.
